The Founder’s Story

The Weed Exchange was created by Michael Ferguson Valenzuela, a former Downtown Los Angeles real estate broker born with deformities in his feet and knees that caused him to experience chronic pain in his feet and knees throughout his life.

After years of managing his pain with pharmaceutical drugs he was happy to find a safer alternative during his adulthood to the many medications he would be prescribed, cannabis.

When a reconstructive knee surgery he underwent in 2016 at the age of 42 left him in worse condition than before and in need of a job that required less walking and standing, he decided to combine his appreciation for cannabis with his online marketing experience and create The Weed Exchange. It was kind of a way to try and make something positive out of a bad situation.
